I have previously served on Warwick District Council and Warwick Town Council, including being Mayor of Warwick. I live in Warwick and am committed to supporting our town.
As your local Councillor I’ve been able to make getting around Warwick a safer and more pleasant experience. I’ve arranged for 20 mph speed limits around Chase Meadow and the town centre, and have been asked to look at another for Wedgnock Green. Safer routes to school have been one of my priorities and a bridge over Gog Brook for Aylesford students is in progress. I’ve also organised eight new pedestrian crossings, new cycle routes and arranged for more dropped kerbs for accessibility. Just weeks ago, I found out that we have the go ahead for lifts to be installed at Warwick railway station. I’ve also been working with Clean Air Warwick, to improve air quality in Warwick to keep all residents healthy. My overall goal is to balance the needs of the community and protect the environment.
I am committed to fostering the best possible start in life for our children. I have worked hard to support services for children and parents to give all children a good start in life. We need to properly fund and support our Children’s Centres, Nurseries, and Schools.
Healthy lifestyles have been supported by building miles of cycle route in Warwick. Pedestrian facilities have been improved. We are implementing a scheme to improve air quality.
I am keen to improve support for our older residents who have given so much to Warwick and Leamington. We are working to join the Council’s Care Services with the NHS but both need to be properly funded.
